Kris Kent is a regular at the Chalkstream Club and it was a pleasure to welcome him this evening as our guest speaker. His subject was Fishing Food, which is something very close to all fisherman’s hearts, as is a drop or two of drink…
Kris talked about his early years in fishing, when a flask of coffee, a petrol station sandwich and a few cigarettes would last him the day. Gradually as the years progressed his days fishing has shortened and his eating time increased into four solid meals a day – starting with a big breakfast, long lunch, afternoon tea and then dinner.
There was lots of nodding heads and chuckling as we all recognised a lot of the scenarios as he talk about his adventures and places he has enjoyed meals on the river bank. Thanks Kris it was a great night and made us all a little more ravenous for the buffet.
Thanks again to John Aplin for organising the meetings and to all the helpers on the night. Hope to see you all at the The European Sport Fishing Show on the 3rd & 4th November in Bristol and of course at the next Dorset Chalkstreams Club.
