Grilled New Potatoes

We find it difficult timing the cooking of our chips/wedges so they coincide with whatever we are cooking on the BBQ. Which can mean a wait for the chips or keeping them warm and loosing their vavavoom. This is the perfect recipe to get over this problem and with no trudging to the kitchen to bring back the chips in all weathers.

Serves 4

8 – 10 New potatoes
1 teaspoon garlic granules
1 pepper
1 tablespoon of British cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil
salt & pepper

  • Boil the potatoes whole for around 15 minutes until they are just under cooked, but not too cooked that they are crumbley
  • Drain and let them steam off the heat in the covered pan for 10 minutes
  • Add the garlic, salt & pepper, plus the oil
  • Cut up the pepper into the same width pieces as the potatoes
  • If the new potatoes are large you may have to half them, before threading onto a wooden skewer, with a slice of pepper between
  • Grill for a few minutes each side over direct heat and then move to cooler part of the grill until they are required

We enjoy ours with fish in parcels or a juicy steak – bon appétit
