My Valley of Stones project has been chugging along since 2018, I’m attempting to capture the spirit of this very special place and home of the polissoir.
The Valley of Stones is 3 crow miles from my house and is one of the best British examples of a sarsen stone boulder train. Numerous types of flora and fauna can be found amongst the stones and the nearby dry chalk valley, which is home to a National Nature Reserve.
In 2023 it was announced that a 5,000 year old polissoir had been found there. There are now plans to complete a survey of the Valley, to see what else they can find – for more information www.pastparticipate.co.uk
