Up at 5am to walk to Hardy Monument to see if the Bluebells were out. Another chilly start to the day and needed gloves on. I walked up the road and made it to the woods, just as the sun appeared on the horizon. Found a host of bluebells and set to work. Messed most up with a too big an aperture, but this one sort of works and I rather like the ethereal look to it. (hero image)
Walked back down the ridgeway, saw deer, rabbits, hares, skylarks and this artistically ploughed field – wonderful walk back into the village.
Kevin appeared with a 3kg bass, at £27 seemed a lot, but we will get 4 meals for us both. Also 3 bags of compost came with Ian & Nicki’s milkman – a busy day a head, filleting and re-potting my tomatoes.
Bass for dinner and I cooked my winning recipe from the 2013 Taste of Dorset Awards. Oven roasted potatoes, with crispy Parma Ham and a wild garlic pesto. I added some samphire that I bought from Morrison’s -it all tasted bloody good.
