A week away without the salty sea
Decided on Cogden for my fix
It’s part of the mighty Chesil Beach
An eighteen mile bank of shingle
The storm had past, the sea still full of colour
The tide was out, my footprints the first
Very little debris over the beach
No manmade objects, which was good
Walked back on the sheltered side
Battered summer flowers
No shelter from the wind and rain
Whereas the brassicas designed to see out storms
Fishers arriving for the rising tide
Time to head up heart attack hill
A walk without rain, the first for a while
